Increased Campus Wi-Fi

Beginning this fall UNT students, faculty, and staff will enjoy enhanced Wi-Fi capabilities in the Auditorium Building, Sage Hall, the General Academic Building, Hickory Hall, Wooten Hall, the Art Building, Chilton Hall, the Music Building and Willis Library.

The increased Wi-Fi access points and bandwidth will allow students to better access technology inside and outside the classroom providing them more mobility and flexibility to complete their work. All of which is essential for the modern day student on the go.

Password now good for one year

Information Technology Shared Services (ITSS) is committed to providing UNT a secure information technology environment. The new password standards will be effective July 1. Passwords now will expire every 365 days. The change reflects best practices common in information technology regarding password composition and complexity.

New Password Guidelines:

• Expiration: Passwords must be changed every 365 days

• Minimum Length: Eight characters

Information Technology Shared Services (ITSS) soon will upgrade faculty and staff Microsoft Office software to Office 365 to offer increased storage and mobile apps that let users view their files on mobile devices – anywhere, anytime.
