IT Compliance and Planning is an integral part of the Management and Risk Services division of IT Shared Services (ITSS). IT Compliance and Planning provides technical and administrative functions in the area of IT compliance, technology risk management, information services, and resource support.
The IT Compliance and Planning service portfolio includes IT policy administration, strategic planning, technology risk assessment, electronic and information resource accessibility coordination, vendor compliance services, information and administrative support, asset management, and State of Texas technology initiatives analysis and reporting.
UNT System strives to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of institutional information shared with vendors. IT Compliance reviews vendor access, software, and systems acquired by the institution for compliance with institution regulations, policies and standards, including the UNT System Information Security Handbook.

Technology acquisitions that involve hosting of confidential data or integration with critical systems require review of a vendor’s security controls through security documentation; including but not limited to a System Acquisition Survey or Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT).
