What to Expect

When you begin a project with Imaging Services, the type of project will determine how fast you go and how complex the process will be.

There are four levels of projects, from Level 1, which is essentially a digital filing cabinet with no third party integrations or workflow processes, all the way up to Level 4, which is a major initiative that can effect multiple departments and will need multiple IT teams to complete.

Level 1 Projects are where most people start. These normally involve only the functional department and Imaging services to complete. On average, these projects are complete in two to three months.

Level 2 Projects may include some basic workflow for business processes and allow more enterprise content management functionality such as annotations, digital signatures and alarms or alerts. Depending on the complexity, these projects can take six months or more.

Level 3 Projects are likely to have extensive workflow and may include third party integrations or specialty import processes. These projects may involve multiple IT teams and can take up to a year to complete.

Level 4 Projects are major initiatives that are approved by the highest level of governance across all 3 campuses. These projects can include multiple departments and often change the way UNT does business. It is not uncommon for these projects to take multiple years to complete.
