What's this about?
To survive in today's world, employees must have technological competencies, no matter the job. From the office professional to the IT professional, there are required skills and there are those that help us do our work better. And as fast as technology changes, sometimes we need a bit of help keeping up with all the advances.
To help with this never-ending endeavor, the UNT System’s IT Shared Services organization has enrolled all of the UNT Campuses in the Microsoft IT Academy. The Microsoft IT Academy gives all students, faculty and staff of UNT, UNT Health Science Center, and UNT Dallas, access to certification oriented training in Microsoft applications.
How Do I Take Classes?
Step 1: Get a Live ID
To take E-Learning classes, you must have a Microsoft Live ID. If you are currently a student at UNT, UNT Health Science Center, or UNT Dallas, you already have a Live ID to access your student email. (UNT and UNT Dallas have "Eagle Connect" accounts, and use a Live ID of FirstnameLastname@my.unt.edu. UNT HSC has Live IDs of ?@live.unthsc.edu.) Alumni that are faculty and/or staff and maintain their student email account can use their Live ID that was created while they were enrolled. Otherwise, faculty and staff who do not currently have a Live ID can create one at Microsoft's Live Sign-up site.
Step 2: Select a Class
Login to our IT Academy class portal, select a class and copy its "Access Code".

Step 3: Login to the E-Learning portal
- Navigate to http://itacademy.microsoftelearning.com.
- Read and Accept the End User License Agreement.
- Enter the Access Code of the class you wish to take.
Instructors
Custom E-Learning
Faculty and staff can customize E-Learning to meet your specific classroom needs with "Instructor" access. This allows you to create unlimited custom access codes each with up to 4 of any of the available E-Learning classes. Once your students begin taking classes, you will be able to review their attendance and progress. Please contact us to request "instructor" access.
Custom Lesson Plans
Whether you are a professor looking to enhance your curriculum with Microsoft content, or you are a staff member who would like to offer classes to enhance the skills of your team, office, or department, Microsoft IT Academy has lesson plans for you to use in a computer classroom setting. Microsoft Certifications
