Vulnerability Alert: Heartbleed OpenSSL Security Flaw

ITSS is aware of the Heartbleed OpenSSL security flaw and is addressing the issue. OpenSSL is used primarily for encrypting confidential or sensitive information that is sent over the internet. The Heartbleed OpenSSL security flaw allows an attacker to read information that would normally be encrypted. A fix is available and is being applied to vulnerable computer systems. ITSS is working with campus IT units to identify and secure systems affected by the security flaw.
